Ginataang Tahong
Basic Ingredients
- 1 lb mussels, cleaned
- 3 tbsp ginger,cut in thin strips
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 2 tbsp patis
- 5 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 cups coconut milk
- 2 cups chopped spinach
- 1 medium onion, minced
- 2 pcs birds eye chili (if necessary)
- 3 tbsp cooking oil
- Heat the cooking oil in a cooking pot.
- Sauté the garlic until brown, onion, and ginger
- Add patis, ground black pepper and chili.Stir.
- Pour in the coconut milk. Let it boil.
- Let the coconut milk reduce to half and then add the spinach. Cook for 1 minute.
- Put-in the mussels. Stir and cook for 5 minutes.
- Serve with steamed rice.
