How to cook Ginataang Tahong

Ginataang Tahong


Basic Ingredients
  • 1 lb mussels, cleaned
  • 3 tbsp ginger,cut in thin strips
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 tbsp patis
  • 5 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 cups coconut milk
  • 2 cups chopped spinach
  • 1 medium onion, minced
  • 2 pcs birds eye chili (if necessary)
  • 3 tbsp cooking oil
Cooking Methods
  • Heat the cooking oil in a cooking pot.
  • Sauté the garlic until brown, onion, and ginger
  • Add patis, ground black pepper and chili.Stir.
  • Pour in the coconut milk. Let it boil.
  • Let the coconut milk reduce to half and then add the spinach. Cook for 1 minute.
  • Put-in the mussels. Stir and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Serve with steamed rice.
